FAQ's

How does Visco-Elastic compare to latex?

Latex and Visco-Elastic are two very different products, each with their own distinct properties and feel - only you, as the customer, can decide which you prefer. For customers familiar with latex, it is important to note that Visco-Elastic feels more moulded. Latex tends to bounce back quicker when touched, whereas Visco-Elastic, with its slow recovery, produces the sensation of conforming to your body.

Will my VE mattress make me hot?

Most memory foams tend to be a bit warm to sleep on as they are very temperature sensitive. The longer you lay on the mattress the more it absorbs your body heat and the more it will mould to you. This is also why a lot of memory foams take a long time to recover, making it harder to turn in the mattress. The Viscolux memory foam we use is a lot more porous making it more breathable and self-ventilating. This means that our Viscolux has one of the widest operating temperatures on the market and instantly moulds to your body, making it easier to turn in than conventional memory foam. However, due to the increase in circulation throughout your body, you may discover you need fewer blankets to sleep comfortably.

Isn't it better for me to sleep on a hard mattress?

Absolutely not! A hard, nonconforming surface forces your body to adapt to its flat shape, bending your spine into an unnatural position and creating pressure points at the shoulders, hips, and feet, which can cause you to toss and turn trying to find a more comfortable position. The result: lower back pain and restless sleep.

Can I put my VE mattress on my current base?

Yes, our mattresses can be used on a solid slat, flexi slat or conventional solid base. If it is an old sprung base there may be a support loss due to age.

How long will it take for me to get used to the Visco-Elastic mattress?

Some people are completely comfortable on the mattress right away. Others need some time to adjust to the remarkable amount of support and unique pressure-relieving feel of the mattress. It conforms to the curves of the body, offering support along the spine with no discernible pressure on bones and joints. Because of this lack of pressure, circulation is encouraged during sleep, making it easier, and even preferable, to remain in the same position for hours at a time.

Is Visco-Elastic Hypo-allergenic?

VE has an anti-dustmite inhibitor helping those with respiratory ailments. This treatment also protects against mould and mildew.
